Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, abbreviated as IEEE is a global community of engineers, scientists and academicians who have come together for technological excellence and advancing innovation. IEEE, as a non-profit organization was first formalized in the year 1884 in New York when a handful of electrical professions joined hands to shape the future of science for the benefit of humanity. Today, IEEE is a community of more than 4 lakh young professionals, scientists and academicians, spanning across 160 countries. However, the benefits and goals of IEEE are not limited to the Electrical and Electronics domain but consists of an array of diversity including computer scientists, information technology, physicists and even medical doctors. IEEE, today stands as a voice of engineers, developers and academicians across nations.
IEEE Student Chapter at G.B. Pant Engineering College is a sub-part of IEEE Delhi Section. IEEE-GBPEC Student Branch seeks to encourage the culture of scientific learning and research amongst engineering communities across India. Since its inception in 2014, the student branch has conducted a multitude of technical and cultural events across the Delhi section. The Student Branch intends to not only enhance scientific temperament among students but also pay a part in technological advancements, happening across the globe. We as a part of a larger technical community, sought to provide opportunities of fellowships, cumulative learning and networking with other institutes, academicians, and scientists thereby invigorating students across GBPEC campus to be a part of the global IEEE community. Currently, IEEE-GBPEC is a 12-membered committee of students and also chairs a non-technical subunit, Women in Engineering(WIE).

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) GBPEC is the Student Branch WIE Affinity Group of G.B. Pant Engineering College under Delhi Section and R10 region. We as an affinity group, strive for enhancing women participation in STEM fields and instill leadership roles for women. IEEE WIE-GBPEC intends to create a budding stage for women across the globe to network, enhance knowledge base and achieve breakthroughs in their STEM careers. WIE-GBPEC was started in 2019 and has been active in organizing seminars, workshops and technical events throughout the year.
